Proposal 1 Title: Universal Malayalam Auto Completer

An overview of proposal An application which suggest malayalam words while user is typing. Word suggestions will display on any window (text editor, browser etf.) after user types 2 or 3 letters. This will help new malayalam users to type in malayalam with less effort.

The need you believe it fulfills A software like this should be available to attract users to type in malayalam. It helps to involve more common people into malayalam computing. It also leads to the emerging of many digital articles and literatures in malayalam.

Proposal 2 Title:

Language model and Acoustic model for Malayalam language for speech recognition system in CMU Sphinx.

Develop acoustic model and language model of Malayalam in CMU Sphinx in order to build a speech recognition system for Malayalam. Malayalam speech recognition system can be used to control computer by speaking in Malayalam langauge, give instructions in Malayalam, speech to text system to type in Malayalam by speaking, a system for blind to interact with PC in malayalam etc.

The need you believe it fulfills A speech recognition system in Malayalam is essential for the growth of Malayalam computing. It attracts common people to interact with computer in their mother tongue in a more simple way.
