പ്രധാനതാളിന്റെ രൂപകല്പനയ്ക്കായി ടേബിളും സ്റ്റൈലും ഡിവും മാത്രമേ ഉപയോഗിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളു. ഉപയോഗിച്ച് ഇപ്പോൾ കൂടുതൽ വഴങ്ങുന്നത് മീഡിയവിക്കി ശൈലിയിലുള്ള കോഡിങ്ങാണ് ടേബിളിന് ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. പട്ടിക മെച്ചപ്പെടുത്താനുള്ള സഹായം [[wikipedia:ml:സഹായം:പട്ടിക|വിക്കിപീഡിയയിലെ സഹായം]] താളിൽ നിന്ന് ലഭിക്കും. html സ്റ്റൈലുകളേ ഉപയോഗിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളു. ഫൂട്ടറിൽ 3 ഡിവ് ഉപയോഗിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഡിവ് -ന്റെ ഉയരം കണ്ടന്റിനനുസരിച്ച് മാറുന്നതിനാൽ, എല്ലാ ഡിവിലും വ്യത്യസ്ത എണ്ണം ഇനങ്ങൾ നൽകിയാൽ പശ്ചാത്തലനിറം നൽകിയിട്ടുള്ളതിനാൽ കേറിയിറങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുന്നതായി കണ്ടേക്കാം. ഇതൊഴിവാക്കാൻ ഉയരം കുറവുള്ളവയിൽ <nowiki><br /></nowiki> ടാഗ് നൽകി ഉയരം ക്രമീകരിക്കാം. പ്രധാനതാളിലെ നോട്ടീസ് [[ഫലകം:MainPageNoticeBoard]] എന്ന താൾ തിരുത്തി പുതുക്കാവുന്നതാണ്.--[[ഉപയോക്താവ്:Praveenp|Praveenp]] 09:29, 31 ജൂലൈ 2010 (UTC)

=ക്യാമ്പിനെ കുറിച്ച്=
കൂടുതല്‍ ആളുകളെ സ്വതന്ത്ര മലയാളം കമ്പ്യൂട്ടിങ്ങിനെ കുറിച്ച് അറിയിക്കുക, കൂടുതല്‍ സന്നദ്ധപ്രവവര്‍ത്തവര്‍ത്തകരെ (contributors) ഇതിലേക്ക് എത്തിക്കുക തുടങ്ങിയ ഉദ്ദേശ്യത്തോട് കൂടി SMC-ഉം Zyxware technologies -ഉം തുടങ്ങിയ ഒരു പദ്ധതിയാണ്(project) എസ്.എം.സി. ക്യാമ്പ്. കോഴിക്കോട് എന്‍ഐടിയില്‍ വച്ച് നടന്ന ലോക്കലൈസേഷന്‍ ഹട്ടിലൂടെയാണ് ഈ ആശയം തുടങ്ങിയതു്. ഒന്നാം സ്വതന്ത്ര മലയാളം കമ്പ്യൂട്ടിങ്ങ് ക്യാമ്പ്, 2010 ഫെബ്രുവരി 27, 28 തിയ്യതികളിലായി കോഴിക്കോടു് ദേവഗിരി കോളേജില്‍ വച്ചു് നടന്നു. പ്രവീണ്‍ അരീമ്പ്രത്തൊടിയില്‍, സൂരജ് കേണോത്ത്, ഹിരണ്‍ വേണുഗോപാല്‍, ജയ്സണ്‍ നെടുമ്പാല, ബൈജു തുടങ്ങിയവരാണ് ഇതിന്റെ ആശയരൂപീകരണത്തിനും ഒന്നാമത്തെ ക്യാമ്പിനുമായി പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ചത്. പ്രധാനമായും സ്കൂള്‍-കോളേജ് വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥികളെ ഉദ്ദേശ്ശിച്ചാണ് ക്യാമ്പുകള്‍ സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നത്.

ഏതെങ്കിലും ഒരു എസ്.എം.സി. പ്രൊജക്റ്റിലേക്ക് നേരിട്ട് സംഭാവന നടത്തുക എന്ന രീതിയാണ് ഓരോ ക്യാമ്പിലും പിന്തുടര്‍ന്നിരുന്നത്. രണ്ട് ദിവസമായിരുന്നു ക്യാമ്പിന്റെ ദൈര്‍ഘ്യം. ആദ്യ ദിവസം ആദ്യ മണിക്കൂറുകളില്‍ സ്വതന്ത്ര മലയാളം കമ്പ്യൂട്ടിങ്ങ്, മലയാളത്തില്‍ ടൈപ്പ് ചെയ്യാനുള്ള സൌകര്യം, അന്നേ ദിവസം ചെയാന്‍ പോകുന്ന പ്രൊജക്റ്റ് അതിന്റെ പ്രാധാന്യം തുടങ്ങിയവ പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തും. തുടര്‍ന്ന് പ്രൊജക്റ്റ് ചെയ്തു തുടങ്ങും.

ഇത്തവണ അതില്‍ ചെറിയ മാറ്റങ്ങള്‍ ഉണ്ട്. ഇത്തവത്തെ ക്യാമ്പുകള്‍ "വ്യാഴ വട്ടക്കാല" ആഘോഷ പരിപാടികളുടെ വിളംബര ശില്പശാലകളായാണ് നടത്തുന്നത്. അഞ്ച് വിഭാഗങ്ങളിലായി ആളുകളെ തരം തിരിച്ചാണ് പരിപാടി ആസൂത്രണം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഒരോ ക്യാമ്പും നടത്താന്‍ വേണ്ട സൌക്യരങ്ങള്‍ അതാത് വിഭാഗങ്ങളില്‍ വിശദീകരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

ക്യാമ്പുകളില്‍ ക്ലാസെടുക്കന്നവര്‍ പരിപാടി നടത്തുന്ന ജില്ലയിലെ സജീവ മെയിലിങ്ങ് ലിസ്റ്റിലും എസ്എംസി ലിസ്റ്റിലും ചേരാന്‍ ക്ഷണിയ്ക്കണം. സജീവ [[local_lists|മെയിലിങ്ങ് ലിസ്റ്റുകളുടെ പട്ടിക ഇവിടെ]].

തുടര്‍ന്നു് ബന്ധപ്പെടാന്‍ താഴെ പറയുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങളില്‍ താത്പര്യമുള്ളവരുടെ പേരും ഫോണ്‍ നമ്പറും വാങ്ങിക്കണം.

ഇതുവഴി വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥികള്‍ക്ക് ഡെവലപ്പര്‍ കൂട്ടായ്മകളുമായി ഇടപെടാന്‍ സഹായിക്കുക എന്നാണ് ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നത്. അതുപോലെ ക്യമ്പിന്റെ ഫോട്ടോയും ഉണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ വളരെ നന്നായിരിക്കും. ക്യാമ്പിന്റെ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് അതേ ദിവസം തന്നെ ലിസ്റ്റിലിട്ടാല്‍ മറ്റുള്ളവര്‍ക്കും ക്യാമ്പിനെ കുറിച്ച് അറിയാന്‍ ഉപകരിക്കും. കൂടാതെ ക്ലാസില്‍ പങ്കെടുത്തവരുടെ എല്ലാവരുടേയും അഭിപ്രായങ്ങളും ഇ-മെയില്‍ വിലാസവും ശേഖരിക്കുകയും വേണം.

SMC camp structure എങ്ങനെ വേണം എന്ന് ഒരു ചെറിയ ചര്‍ച്ച.

ആദ്യകാലത്ത് തര്‍ജ്ജിമയുടെ പേരിലാണ് പല ക്യാമ്പുകളും നടത്തിയിരുന്നത്. ചുമ്മാ ഒരു അനക്കം ഉണ്ടാക്കി, കുറച്ച് പുതുമുഖങ്ങള്‍ വന്നു എന്നാല്ലാതെ ഒരു ഔട്ട്പുട്ട് എന്ന് പറയാന്‍ ക്യാമ്പിലും ഒന്നും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല. ഇവിടേയും കൂടുതല്‍ ഒന്നും പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കുന്നില്ല. എന്നാലും നമ്മള്‍ ഇത്തവണ ഇത്തിരിക്കൂടി ട്യൂണ്‍ഡ് ആവണം. ഒരു ചിത്രം ഞാന്‍ പറയാം. എല്ലാരും കൂടിയാല്‍ അത് ഭംഗിയാക്കം.. ഞാനതിന്റെ പശ്ചാത്തലം വിവരിക്കാം.

SMC-വാര്‍ഷികം പൊതുജനങ്ങളെ ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചാണ് നടത്തുന്നത് എങ്കിലും, ഫലത്തില്‍ അത് ടെക്കി/കമ്പ്യൂട്ടര്‍ സാവി എന്നൊക്കെ പറയുന്ന ചെറിയൊരു കൂട്ടമാണ് അതിലെ പ്രധാന stake holders. അത്തരത്തിലുള്ളവര്‍ ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതല്‍ ഉണ്ടാവുന്നത് engineering college-കളിലാണ്. അപ്പോ നമ്മുടെ ആദ്യഘട്ടം engineering കോളേജുകളിലായിരിക്കും.

തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത കോളേജുകളില്‍(ചുരുങ്ങിയത് 16) നമ്മള്‍ ഒന്നാം ഘട്ടം നടത്തും. താഴെ പറയുന്നത് ഒരു ചെറിയ ചിത്രം, എല്ലാവരും കൂടി മാന്തി വൃത്തിയാക്കുയോ വൃത്തികേടാക്കുയോ ചെയ്യാം. നന്നായാല്‍ പിതൃത്വം ഏറ്റെടുക്കാന്‍ ആള് കൂടും എന്നൊരു മെച്ചമുണ്ട്. :)

ലിസ്റ്റില്‍ പറഞ്ഞത്രയും കാര്യങ്ങളുടെ ഒരു ചിത്രം കൊടുക്കാന്‍ പറ്റണം. ഇതില്‍ എല്ലാം എല്ലായിടത്തും പറയാനല്ല. ആളെ നോക്കി filter ചെയ്ത് പറയാം. എന്നാലും ഒരു ഉദ്ദേശം കിട്ടാന്‍ ഇതുപോലൊരെണ്ണം ഉപയോഗിക്കാം.

Workshop camps like these are usually more of *hands-on* in nature, addressing real-world problems. With SMC-Zyxware the problems have an added dimension as they attempt to solve problems which a community closest to our hearts would cherish to use - they being linked to our native language - malayalam.

A previous such camp was organised at Vidya Academy in 29 November 2010, details of which can be found at http://wiki.smc.org.in/Developer_Camp/VAST and http://www.vidyaacademy.ac.in/?q=node/898

Lets make history by being there - right in the midst of similar problems and use our collective will in solving them. For the third years, this should be a golden opportunity to work with such problems as their Final Year projects or as their mini projects. The first step was to familiarize bug tracking system of KDE, GNOME and other projects. Mr Baiju explained about the importance of good bug-reports in software development and Mr Sooraj shared his experiences on reporting a bug.The demonstrations were on
1) How to find/confirm a bug
2) Studying the bug tracking methods of the software
3) Searching for existing bug reports in bug tracker
4) Necessity of good comments for bug reports
5) Resolving an existing bug
6) Efficient bug reporting in systems which lack bug trackers.
As per the request of the participants , there was a demonstration of basic command line tools indent, diff and patch. The necessity of following programming conventions of each community was discussed. Study of different version controlling systems used by various communities ended with familiarizing basic git commands.The process was hindered by the proxies in the network

Originally, a hands-on session on using IRC was intended.But as we could login to IRC with webchat only on two systems due to proxies in the network, a demo of the same was done.Mr Baiju stressed on the importance of mailing lists, IRCs, Version management systems, editors,effective communication between developers etc for the efficient development of software systems. Mr Sooraj illustrated about wiki and various documentation techniques used by free software projects. This was followed by a doubt clearance session.This lead to elaborations on payment in free software companies,their economic model, Linux documentation HOW TOs ...

==About==
Praveen Arimbrathodiyil will be leading the camp. Praveen Arimbrathodiyil is one of key contributors to the SMC Project.His contributions include Malayalam localization of various free software projects like GNOME, KDE, Debian installer, and various gnu.org articles. He has actively influenced the present state of Malayalam language on Free Software Desktops through relentless testing, feedback and programming when and where required. He is also a debian maintainer and has worked as a mentor for Google Summer of Code projects.

In addition to Praveen, we expect other FOSS developers to join us in person, or over the internet, in the session.The general Layout of the program will be as follows:

FOSS developers/contributors present at the camp will share their experiences in developing applications/application libraries for FOSS projects, and working with other developers in the community around the projects. Students will have the opportunity to pitch in with their ideas as well.

There will be introductory sessions and discussions about various FOSS Development models, Version control, reading user as well as API documents etc.

I hope he will explain it. It seems to be more economical. You can suggest your own idea and a way to implement it. Once Mr. Praveen.A suggested to introduce Pango in one of the camp.

It has to be decided by the local community, depending upon the availability of experts and level of available volunteers. If it is only translation of documentation, it is only semi-technical. If we are getting volunteers have some technical skill or a hand on any language we can do it as a technical one. But it not easy to make it a pure non-technical event.

സ്വതന്ത്ര സോഫ്റ്റ്വെയര്‍ പ്രസ്ഥാനമാണ് ഈ അവസ്ഥയില്‍ നിന്നും രക്ഷപ്പെടാന്‍ പ്രാദേശിക ഭാഷാ കമ്പ്യൂട്ടിങ്ങിനെ ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതല്‍ സഹായിച്ചത്. മലയാളത്തില്‍ ഒറ്റയ്കും കൂട്ടായും ഒരുപാട് പ്രാദേശിക ഭാഷാ കമ്പ്യൂട്ടിങ്ങ് പ്രൊജക്റ്റുകള്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഇതില്‍ പ്രധാനവും പേരു കേട്ടതും രചന എന്ന പ്രൊജക്റ്റ് ആണ്. പക്ഷെ, സ്വതന്ത്ര മലയാളം കമ്പ്യൂട്ടിങ്ങ് ആണ് ഇതില്‍ പൂര്‍ണ്ണമായും സ്വതന്ത്രമായ കാഴ്ചപ്പാടോടു കൂടി ഉണ്ടായ ഒരു പ്രസ്താനം. രണ്ടായിരത്തി ഒന്നില്‍. അന്ന് കോഴിക്കോട് എന്‍.ഐ.ടി. വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥിയായിരുന്ന ബൈജു ആണ് ഇതിന് തുടക്കമിട്ടത്.

പിന്നീട് പതുക്കെ നിര്‍ജ്ജീവതയിലേക്ക് നീങ്ങിയ ഇതിനെ പുനരുജ്ജീവിക്കാനായി രണ്ടായിരത്തി ആറോടുകൂടി ഒരു സംഘം ചെറുപ്പക്കാര്‍ മുന്നിട്ടിറങ്ങി. വെറും ഒരു വര്‍ഷം കൊണ്ട മലയാളത്തിനായി പതിനാല് ആപ്ലിക്കേഷനുകളാണ് ഇവര്‍ പുറത്തിറക്കിയത്. ഇന്ന് കമ്പ്യൂട്ടറില്‍ മലയാളം ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന മിക്കവരും സ്വതന്ത്ര മലയാളം കമ്പ്യൂട്ടിങ്ങില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള ആപ്ലിക്കേഷനുകളാണ് ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത്. പക്ഷേ ഇതിന്റെ വികസനം പിന്നിട് വീണ്ടും ഏതാനും പേരിലേക്ക് ഒതുങ്ങുന്ന അവസ്ഥയിലായി. പ്രസ്കാനത്തിന് കൂടുതല്‍ പരസ്യ പ്രചാരം ലഭിക്കാത്തതും ഇതിന്റെ വികസനത്തിന് മുന്നിട്ടിങ്ങിവരില്‍ മിക്കവരും അവരുടെ ജോലിതിരക്കിപെട്ടു പോയതുമാണ് ഇതിനൊരു കാരണം.

* കോഴിക്കോടു് ദേവഗിരി കോളേജില്‍ വച്ചു് ഒന്നാം സ്വതന്ത്ര മലയാളം കമ്പ്യൂട്ടിങ്ങ് ക്യാമ്പ് ഫെബ്രുവരി 27, 28 തിയ്യതികളിലായി നടന്നു.
* പൂനെയിലെ റെഡ് ഹാറ്റിന്റെ ഓഫീസില്‍ വച്ചു് രണ്ടാം സ്വതന്ത്ര മലയാളം കമ്പ്യൂട്ടിങ്ങ് ക്യാമ്പ് മാര്‍ച്ച് 20, 21 തിയ്യതികളിലായി നടന്നു.
* തിരുവനന്തപുരത്തു് സ്പേസിന്റെ ഓഫീസില്‍ വച്ചു് മൂന്നാമതു് സ്വതന്ത്ര മലയാളം കമ്പ്യൂട്ടിങ്ങ് ക്യാമ്പ് മാര്‍ച്ച് 27, 28 തിയ്യതികളിലായി നടന്നു.
